Little Emikins

Emilee is ten. We've been posting here since she was seven and her work is from all ages from itty bitty to present times.
She shares a love for art just like her mommy and her gift is evident each time she picks up a pencil, crayon, paint brush, or marker.

Hello! I'm Alethea. I'm an artist, wife, mom, and follower of Christ. I love to learn every day from everything around me. My experience lies in my willingness to explore outside my comfort zone and go above and beyond my limits. I always try to push myself to do better, learn more, and realize more profound potential. I would love to be more organized and productive with my time; it's hard to juggle life and art! I usually have one too many projects going on at the same time. I'm a perfectionist ~ and strive to do my very best with each project. Throughout my life, I've dabbled in many areas of art, trying to experience all I can, picking up tips and tricks from various trades and using them to hone in on the places I love most. I love what I do!

This is one of my favorites from last year.
Emi made this for her little sister, Abby, who LOVES rainbows
I gave her the idea to make puffy clouds out of tissue paper and they came out perfect! :)

quite a unique selection

"Pear" ~ this one is my favorite out of the lot ~ great use of color!
"Two People Holding an Egg" ~ this one kills me! Her imagination is brilliant!
This one is just too sweet ~ I had heard two fighter jets fly overhead, but missed them, so she drew them for me :)
and this one, well, we were watching Spongebob, and we were drawing sea creatures, and, as you can see, is a starfish with a LOT of eyes! All drawings are done on 8 1/2 X 11 paper with various mediums including graphite pencil, colored pencils & pen - 2005

these are some of my favorites!

i wanted to get emi's blog started with some of her first works, and there are SO many of them, so i chose my most favorites, starting with this one of her princesses. my favorites are neesee and wasee ... which sound very similar to the names of the princesses in the recent movie "Imagine That" ~ must be a little princess thing :)

Emi's Art Blog Begins!

I decided that it was time to create Emi's Art Blog since her art just continues to improve!
I know one day she'll look at this and be grateful I kept ALL of her art . . . at least online :)
[Honestly, I really DO have all of it]
I'm starting with one of her more recent pieces, but plan on posting my favorites and some of her best 1st pieces. It's the whole taking the time to scan everything in that's the catch, but I'll do it eventually . . . maybe even tomorrow.

So begins Emi's Art Blog ~ Enjoy! :)
